PAMIA is a mutual insurance company providing professional indemnity insurance to British and Irish patent attorneys and trade mark attorneys in private practice.
PAMIA was established in 1990 and now insures about 250 firms, representing over 95% of the attorneys eligible for membership.
PAMIA operates on a not-for-profit basis, using any surpluses it generates to support the provision of the highest quality of cover and service to its members at stable cost.
PAMIA is owned and controlled by its members, who elect a Board of Directors currently consisting of sixteen attorneys.
PAMIA employs specialist mutual insurance company managers to provide its services to members and to advise the Board on insurance and regulatory issues.
PAMIA is authorised and regulated by the FSA.
